Sovna Puri Beverage Education policies for WSET
Sovna Puri Beverage Education reserves the right to amend these cancellation and refund policies at any time. Figures below exclude GST. GST applies at billing.
For candidates
- Send cancellation, rescheduling, and refund requests using the contact form.
- Transfer requests at least 25 days before the course start date are accepted. If you move to a future course, you pay any fee difference in full before registration. Transfer requests less than 25 days before the start date are not accepted.
- Cancellation and refund requests at least 15 days before the start date incur the cancellation fee below. Requests less than 15 days before the start date are not eligible for any refund.
WSET course cancellation charges
- Level 1 Award in Wines: INR 6,000
- Level 2 Award in Wines: INR 20,000
Sovna Puri Beverage Education deducts the applicable cancellation charge from the overall fee before any refund.
Online courses and deferring tasting
Online WSET courses combine online theory with offline tasting. Session and tasting or exam dates are shared before you register. If you defer tasting to a future date, an extra fee applies and seating depends on availability.
- Level 1 deferring charge: INR 1,000
- Level 2 deferring charge: INR 3,000
Study packs purchased in advance
If you buy WSET study packs in advance from Sovna Puri Beverage Education, these amounts count against the course fee at registration.
- Level 1 Award in Wines study pack: INR 2,000
- Level 2 Award in Wines study pack: INR 6,000
No deductions apply once study material or study packs are sold to candidates. See the returns policy below.
Returns and replacement policy
- Study materials or study packs are returnable or replaceable only if they arrive damaged, defective, or not as described.
- We may contact you to confirm damage or defect before a replacement or refund.
- Materials with writing are not accepted. Study packs sell as a unit. Contents are not sold separately and are not accepted for individual returns.
- After payment, we email courier details and tracking numbers when your order ships.
- Unanticipated courier delays are outside Sovna Puri Beverage Education's control. We help investigate delays. You should also contact the courier directly when needed.
For Sovna Puri Beverage Education
- A course may cancel or reschedule if minimum seat numbers are not met, or because of serious events such as natural disasters, health emergencies, or political emergencies. We tell students as soon as we can. In those cases we start a full refund within up to 15 working days.
- We do not refund personal costs such as accommodation, travel, medical emergencies, or leave from work.
- Course date announcements follow our own schedule without a fixed timeline.
WSET APP application policies
Complaints and appeals
Every student deserves a fair, prompt, and courteous service. We aim to resolve complaints within 15 working days. Use the contact form to register a complaint. For a formal appeal to WSET after our investigation, email WSET at qa@wsetglobal.com with your full name, date of birth, and a short description of the issue.
Conflict of interest
As an Approved Programme Provider we identify and manage actual, potential, and perceived conflicts of interest involving staff and students, in line with WSET. A conflict exists when interests or loyalties could harm judgement, objectivity, or loyalty to WSET or Sovna Puri Beverage Education. Examples include invigilation by someone who trained candidates for that assessment, or coaching by someone who marks scripts. Report conflicts in writing through the contact form as soon as possible.
Privacy and data protection
Sovna Puri Beverage Education protects your privacy and aims to keep personal data safe. By using our website you agree to this policy. Questions: use the contact form. We collect data to send course or event information, register you with WSET for exams, and run examinations including reasonable adjustments and special consideration. We collect name, date of birth, gender, contact details, and sometimes meal preferences where we organise lunch. Data shared with WSET follows WSET's privacy policy.
Diversity and equality
We uphold diversity and equality in all work. We promote fair access to WSET qualifications, ensure materials do not unlawfully discriminate, and support reasonable adjustments and special consideration per policy. Concerns: use the contact form.
Reasonable adjustments
WSET and Sovna Puri Beverage Education work to make assessments accessible. Submit requests at least 30 working days before the exam through the contact form. We forward requests to WSET. Examples include extra time, large print materials, or room changes for sensory needs.
Special consideration
Special consideration helps when illness, injury, or events outside your control at exam time seriously affect performance. You must have finished the course and otherwise be ready to sit. Contact us urgently through the contact form with the Special Consideration Application Form and supporting documents within 3 working days after the affected exam when applicable.
Malpractice and maladministration
We follow WSET frameworks for malpractice (intentional or reckless wrongdoing) and maladministration (unintentional errors or weak processes). Report concerns promptly. WSET may investigate and contact you or us for information.
Examples for the centre include breaching WSET rules, poor exam material storage, or misleading advertising. Examples for students include cheating, disruption in the exam room, or plagiarism. We expect professional behaviour at all times.
Resit candidates
If you do not pass the WSET exam on the first attempt, you may book a resit. Use the contact form to schedule. Resits may run offline or online. Fees follow the current WSET resit schedule for your level and format.
